About us

Tidings allows you to create customized newsletters called publications, and send them to any device or service you read on. You can build a publication out of your feeds and various other sources (such as calendar, social media, etc.) we provide.

Last updated 9 October 2026.

Your account

One account per person, using a valid email address. Sign-in links are the only way to log in. You're responsible for what's done with your account.

Fair use

Generated editions are for your own reading. Please don't:

  • use Tidings to break the law or someone else's rights;
  • hammer the service, scrape it, or try to gain illicit access;
  • resell editions, or republish other people's writing from them.

We reserve the right to terminate any account that puts the service or other people at risk. In such cases, we'll do our best to tell you first and explain why.

On paying

Thank you for keeping Tidings going!

  • Paddle is our merchant of record. It's the seller on your receipt and takes the actual payment, so check out its buyer terms to learn more.
  • Change your mind within 14 days of your first payment, and you get a full refund, no questions asked.
  • Cancel any time. Your subscription lasts until the end of the period you've paid for, after which your account will be downgraded to a free account. Paid features will stop working, and this might mean a disruption to your created publications.
  • Prices are shown before you pay, and if they ever change, we'll tell you before your next payment.

If things break

Sorry! We work very hard to make sure everything works and runs on time, but feeds break, services go down, and software gets bugs. We do our best to make sure Tidings always delivers a meaningful, respectful and joyful experience for its users. With that said, as far as the law allows, we're not liable for losses from a late, missing or wrong edition. For major issues that persist or have a large impact on the service, we will do our best to set things right with the users affected. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer.

Leaving

You can delete your account any time in Settings, and everything in your account goes straight away; the last copies in our backups and email logs clear on their own within 45 days. We do our best to store as little as possible about you.

If these terms change in a large or meaningful way, we'll email you before it takes effect.
